Reduced Ticket Prices for Participants in the 2012 Canadian Open Championships! The 2012 Canadian Open Championships are fast approaching; only 3 months remain until this highly anticipated event! As you know, the 2012 edition is very special. Everyone will be assembled under one roof in Toronto for a once in a lifetime experience! Not only will volleyball enthusiasts be competing for the National Championship title with teams from across the country, but they will also have the opportunity to attend matches of the 2012 World League, May 18th-20th at the Ricoh Coliseum, next door to the Direct Energy Centre. You will have the chance to see your Canadian Men’s National team take on World #1 Brazil, World #4 Poland, and World #27 Finland! Two matches a day will be played, for a total of six matches over three days!

The OVA is pleased to announce that it will be co-hosting a Coaching Symposium in conjunction with the 2012 CIS Volleyball Championships being held March 2 - 4, 2012 at McMaster University (Women's Championship) and Queen's University (Men's Championship).

Volleyball Canada has announced that Toronto will host the Canadian portion of the men’s World League volleyball tournament May 18-20 at the Ricoh Coliseum.
The World League will be part of an important and busy 2012 season for the Canadian squad, ranked 18th in the world, which is also looking to land a spot in the Olympic Games. This is Canada’s first appearance in World League play since 2007.

Once again, coaches attending Ontario Championships will be asked to select one (1) player from their own team to receive the OVA Award of Excellence medal. The Award of Excellence medal is awarded annually to one member of every 13U to 16U team and selection criteria varies per team. Coaches or teams may choose to recognize an athlete that displays one or more of the following characteristics:
- Dedication to the sport of volleyball
- Perseverance and commitment
- Sportsmanship and fair play, team spirit and/or leadership
- Performance and/or most improved
