24U Train to Compete Beach Provincial Team 2012 PDF Print E-mail

The 24U Provincial team is fully integrated into the Fulltime Training Centre. While athletes training in this practice group include athletes that are preparing to represent Canada in the U19 and U21 World Championships, Universiade, FISU Games, & NORCECA this year and/or the following years, athletes entering beach from indoor with limited beach experience are encouraged to contact us.

The FTC is the result of a partnership between the Ontario Volleyball Association, Canadian Sport Centre Ontario, and Volleyball Canada to create a world-class beach volleyball program to support beach athletes with the necessary resources to help them achieve potential international prominence.

FTC Training Program


  • May 1 - Aug 31
  • 4-5 days per week of regular training at Volleyball Canada’s High Performance Facility & Ashbridges Bay

  • Training provided by Provincial Coaches, FTC coaches and National Team coaches

  • Practices along side the Beach National Team

  • Coaching support during OVA Tour, Provincials, & Nationals

  • Strength & Conditioning for Quest for Gold athletes
  • Ontario High Performance Sport Initiative (OHPSI) athletes benefit from sport science support from Canadian Sports Centre Ontario

  • Weekly Yoga

  • Coaches will provide team specific competition and preparation plans
  • Athletes are expected to commit to all regular training sessions and compete in the both Provincial Weekends, Nationals, both 2 day OVA tournaments, single day OVA tournaments, and the Quest for Gold end of season Testing & Tournament

Those athletes interested in being identified as a 24U Train to Compete Beach Provincial Team athlete can attend the Fulltime Training Centre Identification & Selection camp May 4-6, 2012. Information about this camp can be found here.

Details about this camp will be posted here as soon as they are confirmed.
